More off-peak departures lead to patronage growth – even during peak hours
It is easy to assume that the most efficient way to increase public transport patronage is to add more departures during peak hours when a lot of people usually travel. However, recent research suggests that it is not that simple. A recently published doctoral thesis shows that off-peak departures during midday and evening periods when few people travel are of great importance for the overall public transport patronage.
