Train delays affect both the efficiency and attractiveness of railway networks and cause inconvenience to passengers. A relatively large portion of delays occur at stations, where the exchange of passengers influences the on-time performance of trains. More knowledge is thus needed on how passengers influence delays at train stations and which measures can be taken.
