Presentation

I have a background in Urban Planning with specializations in travel behaviour modelling, social network analysis and urban transformation. I am currently working as the Associate Professor of Mobility and Urban Planning at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden.

My doctoral research (Eindhoven University of Technology) investigated the interplay between social network dynamics and travel behaviour over the life course of an individual.

In recent years, I have been studying the transition to new sustainable transport solutions in the era of emerging technologies (e.g. Mobility as a Service, Demand Responsive Transport), specifically, individuals’ behavioural traits, governance transitions and policy responses towards smart public transit systems and cycling innovations. In the ongoing projects we are exploring the role of gamification in the adoption of sustainable travel choices and digital platforms (digital twins) to support of local governments’ decision making processes, engage local communities and collaborate with other stakeholders.

Prior to joining KTH, I worked as Assistant Professor (Sustainable Transportation) at the Radboud University, as Lecturer at the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) and as research fellow at the Delft University of Technology, Imperial College London, Utrecht University and Cities Institute UK.
